This meeting will include:

• Review of work completed to date and work planned for 2025 - including adjustments made to the workplan in response to Governor Inslee’s directive (on contracts, hiring, and travel freeze)

• How Washington Thriving will interface with the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Work Group (CYBHWG) this year

• A first look at the outline of the Strategic Plan

• Discussion of what outcomes the system model should solve for

Note: This meeting is scheduled outside of typical business hours to facilitate attendance of Advisory Group members whose employers do not sponsor their participation.

Contracted Washington Thriving project partners through Health Management Associates (HMA) have been working to develop and share their findings to date in support of development of the strategic plan.

While these documents are currently under review, we are excited to share that information from these reports will be coming out soon, including:

• The funding structure of behavioral health in the state of Washington

• Common themes discovered through the community engagement and listening sessions held in 2024

• Recommendations from the HMA team based on their findings

The systems modeling workstream has officially kicked off to develop an interactive model of Washington’s prenatal through age 25 behavioral health system which will be designed to simulate interactions in our complex system and demonstrate how different investment decisions may impact desired outcomes for Washington's children, youth, and families/caregivers. The initial system map is being built by a core modeling team using expertise from lived and living experience and system partners representing public health, pediatric & behavioral healthcare providers, educators & school systems, adjacent systems impacting behavioral health (e.g. housing, justice-involved, child welfare), state government, private & public insurance, and health equity. Once built, the Washington Thriving system model will serve as a tool for cross-system engagement and discussion on high leverage areas of investment for the state, as Washington Thriving considers its different strategic recommendations to put forward.
